Official safe zone, 1080×1920
X has not published a safe zone. Nothing is drawn for this platform, and it is left out of the combined overlay so we do not invent a margin.
Free account limits, without a fake safe zone
X video specs
A free X account can post 2 minutes 20 seconds (140 seconds) and about 512 MB. The file should be MP4 or MOV, H.264 High profile, 4:2:0, AAC-LC, at or under 60 fps. 16:9 and 1:1 are the recommended shapes. 9:16 is allowed and plays full screen.
Premium lasts longer. The published paid caps conflict, so they are not encoded as a second limit. There is also no official safe zone. The overlay says so instead of drawing a guessed margin, and X is left out of the combined worst case.
Drop a clip
MP4, MOV, WebM, or a thumbnail. Duration, resolution, aspect, fps, codec, and file size are read here. Nothing is uploaded.
What to do with it
- Trim to 140 seconds if the source is a 3 minute Short that also needs to land on free X.
- 1280×720 is the recommended landscape size. 1920×1080 and 1080×1920 are both inside the documented maximums.
- Aspects outside 1:3 to 3:1 fail. Almost every normal clip is inside that range.
- Baseline or Main profile H.264 warns. High profile is the cited target.
X specs
Free accounts get 2 minutes 20 seconds and 512 MB. Premium lasts longer, but the published paid caps do not agree with each other. There is no official safe zone.
