X video size
The X upload limit people hit is not the pixel size. A phone recording is tiny. The limits are 512 MB and 140 seconds on a free account. Past either one, the checker fails and offers a trim or a compress.
Pixel sizes that show up in the docs: 1280×720 recommended for landscape, up to 1920×1080 or 1080×1920. Aspect can run from 1:3 to 3:1.

What to do with it
- H.264 High, AAC-LC, MP4 or MOV, 60 fps or less.
- A 9:16 Short passes the X aspect rule. You do not have to letterbox it back to 16:9.
- Compress targets 90% of 512 MB so the muxing overhead does not push the file back over the line.
- If you pay for Premium, treat the fail as a free-account fail. The file may still post.
X specs
Free accounts get 2 minutes 20 seconds and 512 MB. Premium lasts longer, but the published paid caps do not agree with each other. There is no official safe zone.
