TikTok video size

TikTok's web uploader asks for 720×1280 or higher and accepts MP4 or WebM under 10 GB, up to 30 minutes. The size people mean when they search this is the phone size: 1080×1920, 9:16.

Ads are a tighter box (at least 540×960, 9:16, 500 MB, 516 kbps). The grid uses the web-upload numbers for pass/fail and mentions the ads safe zone separately.

What to do with it

1080×1920 is the export. 720×1280 passes the floor and warns for the recommended frame.
A 1920×1080 gameplay clip is a high resolution and the wrong shape. The aspect check warns; the cover preview shows the crop.
File size almost never fails the 10 GB web cap. The 300 MB and 512 MB buttons exist for Instagram's API and free X.
H.264, HEVC, VP8, and VP9 are the codecs cited for the API. The web page itself only names the container.

Web uploads through TikTok Studio run up to 30 minutes. 720×1280 is the published floor and 1080×1920 is the size creators should actually export.

What aspect ratio does TikTok use?

9:16. Other ratios can be uploaded. They are letterboxed or cropped in the player, which is why the checker warns instead of failing.

What is the max upload size?
